A Absolute Bath & Body Works fan who writes a blog for both men and women covering various topics including photography, gardening, cooking, arts and crafts .

Some of my very first memories were those of doing some sort of craft project with my mother and father.  From the first moment I held a crayon in my hand I knew that I loved creating.

With parents who were both creatively talented in different ways...I had a lot to keep up with.  And  because of them, I learned so much about so many different types of crafts easily.

One of my favorite jobs was working for a crafting mail order company here in my town.  I remember I went into the interview nervous not sure what they would ask me and I hoped that all that I did know would be somehow related to this job.  The owners list of questions were all craft related....of course....and when I answered everything correctly, she hired me on the spot.  Later on she confided to me that all of the other candidates had no idea what a rocaille  bead was so how could they work there.  After a month I was given a raise and I became part of the creative design team.

Later on in life I was lucky to be able to implement my knowledge of crafting into a career working for one of the countries top Needlework Design Companies.  This afforded me a look into the other side of the hand crafts I knew and loved....the " behind the scenes"  journey from an idea to a finished product in my home....and helped me better understand why things cost what they do on the retail front.

There is not a corner anywhere in my home that there isn't something craft related.

Be it the attic, basement and mudroom where the supplies are stored, or the spaces of my house that have the completed projects are on display...all of me and my creative heart is here....ready to inspire you.

How To | DIY Garden Bee Hive | Made from The Dollar Store Supplies - April 18, 2019

I have always wanted to buy a Bee Skep for decorating the inside of my home and my garden but if you are like me and have searched for them too you would see just how expensive they are, how hard they are to find, and how quickly they sell out when found.

Luckily, I saw a creative way to make a Bee Hive while saving a ton of money.  After trying it for myself I just had to share the "How To" of this project for other DIY Crafters.

Here is what you need to get started:

Today's finds at a Michael's Craft Store. All of the Christmas themed items has been moved out of the aisles for clearance and they are beginning to stage the Spring themed flowers and Home Decor products.

My store didn't have the flowers all set but the Sea, Kitchen, Farm Inspired and Signs filled up two aisles and the back wall.

Not yet sale priced, these are well worth checking out and using your 50% off coupons on if you have them.

Simple & Fun: Crafting 101 | Fish Net jar |Summertime Luminary

January 26, 2014   I saw this advertisement in the latest Yankee Candle catalog for a summer themed candle holder and while its beautiful, it is a bit pricey.  I am a bit clutzy at times ( I broke a mirror this morning) so I try not to spend too much on glass things that I want to use indoors or outdoors. While shopping with my brother ye...

How-To | Simple & Fun: Crafting 101 | Beaded Sequin Easter Egg Peep & Bunny

How-To | Simple & Fun: Crafting 101 | Beaded Sequin Easter Egg Peep & Bunny
January 21, 2104 I was fortunate to have worked for one of the leading crafts companies and I remember going for my interview. The woman said to me first thing that no one was able to pass her test and I was the last candidate of the day and she was hoping I could. Thinking that was rather odd to say, I wondered what she could possibly be doing as ...

Craft: Paper Doll Dress Origami

Craft: Paper Doll Dress Origami

December 16, 2013 I just think these are adorable and I started playing around with note cards yesterday to get a feel to do it and I find the more I do the more I want to as they are cute.  Sure, I may need a lot more practice, and you can add little touches of lace and little florets but as a plain little origami project it does help pass th...

Craft: Making my own Minion Pumpkin

I have been wanting to do this project for so long but in order to do it, you need a pumpkin or a group of pumpkins and those are not really around yet. I did see those foam pumpkins that you can carve yourself in  Michael's stores and they are sooo expensive I hesitated to buy one for a few weeks now. I thought if I do this project, I can paint on real pumpkins and when they rot I can toss them. Or I can wait for a sale on the foam and have it always...and maybe make Santa caps for them for Christmas.
