Sweet Stuff!
Get inspired by our latest home-fragrance how-to!

We’d love to take credit for this a-mazing DIY idea, but we’re biting a few of our favorite bloggers’ style by upcycling our candle jars and turning them into super cute storage solutions! With this season’s decorative Destination Collection and Sweet Shop-stylized lids to accent your vanity, tabletop and more, there’s no reason to throw our candles away ever again. Trust us, after following these 5 simple steps, you’ll look at our candles in a whole new light!

1. PREP & PROTECT
We recommend using candles with no more than 1 inch of wax left. Remember, the term “melted wax” is synonymous with messy spills so make sure you cover your counters with old dish towels or newspaper in order to avoid any extra scrubbing and scraping! Break out a pot for boiling water, a stainless steel scrubber, vinegar and/or Windex.
2. LOSE THE LABELS!
Soak the candle jar in a large bowl of hot water with concentrated dish detergent for about 20 minutes. Make sure the rim of the candle jar is higher than the water line to avoid any moisture from spilling onto the wax. Remove the candle from the water and the label should easily peel off. Use an abrasive sponge to scrape off any stubborn stickiness. If glue persists, apply rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball to the area and wipe away!
3. WAX ON! WAX OFF!
Place candle in the freezer and let sit for 6 to 8 hours. Wedge a dull butter knife between an edge of the frozen wax and glass. Work knife down in a back-and-forth motion until wax pops out of the jar. Any remaining pieces of wax and any remaining wick clips should come off easily with a gentle scrub.
4. ALMOST THERE…
After you’ve mastered the above goo-be-gone techniques, fill the empty jar with hot water and let set for 5 minutes. Empty and wipe inside glass with a clean paper towel. (Note: there should be no smearing! If wax is creamy in texture, repeat step 3). Next, spray a little Windex or vinegar, wipe and make glass sparkle and shine!

5. THE FUN PART!
Keep all of your favorite powdered-sugar pastries, pretty parfaits & swirl-topped sweets super fresh and ready to eat! We filled ours with jellybeans and macaroons from our hometown Patisserie, Columbus, Ohio’s Pistacia Vera!
